Renters Insurance

It is required you obtain renters insurance prior to moving into your new apartment.

You may establish renter’s insurance through a provider of your choice. Every tenant or non-tenant occupant (over the age of 18 years) MUST have $5,000 per person in coverage.

• PERSONAL PROPERTY COVERAGE (NOT LIABILITY COVERAGE).
  This includes spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. living with the student or resident.
  Often students will get liability insurance not personal property insurance. There is a difference.
  You will be required to show proof of renter’s insurance every year you reside with us.
• Coverage Period
  Check your lease dates. You are responsible for maintaining your renter’s insurance for the entire time you are living at EVMS Campus Housing.
• Notification
  The renter’s insurance policy must show EVMS Campus Housing as an “Interested Party.”

No keys will be given to the tenant until this form along with proof of insurance has been received.
